Home in Bukit Merah Singapore, December 11,2002 -
Singapore-based integrated healthcare service provider, Pacific
Healthcare Holdings Pte Ltd, will open the doors to its state-of-the-art
nursing home located in Bukit Merah by early 2004.

The Minister of State (Health and Environment), Dr Balaji
Sadasivan, officiated at the ground-breaking for the 300-bed
nursing home today. The home will feature environmentally-friendly
design, energy-saving technology and the latest patient monitoring
equipment when completed.
Pacific Healthcare is investing a total of S$12 million in
this contemporary facility through its subsidiary Pacific
Healthcare Nursing Home (PHNH). Built on 2,000 sq metres (21,528
square feet) of land, the nursing home will support the Government's
plans in increasing the number of nursing home beds available
for the ageing population in Singapore. Currently 6700 beds
are available.
Pacific Healthcare Managing Director, Dr William Chong, said,
"Today's groundbreaking marks a major milestone for Pacific
Healthcare. Our purpose-built facility will provide comprehensive
medical and nursing care for the elderly with more than half
the beds earmarked to serve as B2 and C class wards. This
will make our Nursing Home more accessible to the public at
large."
All of our Nursing Home residents will receive comprehensive
medical care from our team of medical professionals encompassing
physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and
trained nursing staff.
This
facility will also have the capacity to accept patients requiring
chronic hospital care, as well as for those in need of short-term
rehabilitative services. The Nursing Home is located along
Jalan Bukit Merah, in close proximity to the Singapore General
and Alexandra Hospitals.
