" The setting up of this nursing home underlines Pacific Healthcare’s commitment to community service and is part of its plan to provide comprehensive medical and nursing care for the elderly."

With the successful tenders of two plots of land at Bukit Merah and Senja Road (Bukit Panjang), Pacific Healthcare has ventured into yet another arena of health service, that is, care for the elderly.

The four-storey nursing homes, will be built on 2,000 square meters of land and have the capacity to provide short and long term care for 260 patients each. These purpose built facilities, each costing about $12 million, will feature state-of-the-art amenities and offer a high level of nursing and medical care.

The nursing home at the Bukit Merah site is expected to be completed by late 2004. To ensure that the services in the nursing home are accessible to the public, more than half of the beds will be dormitory beds. The home at Senja Road is expected to be ready by early 2006.

" When my colleagues and I set up Pacific Healthcare Holdings 2 years ago, we sought to build an Institution of Clinical Excellence - one based on Care, Compassion and Community Service. Today marks an important chapter of our vision in creating a truly Integrated Healthcare Service Network."
