Julianah Abu Wong

Dr Julianah Abu Wong is the only
Malay Female Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in
Singapore. She is the recipient of many scholastic awards,
from the Ministry of Education, the Prime Minister Book Prize,
Mendaki and from the Public Service Commission to pursue her
medical studies. She completed her medical undergraduate studies
at the National University of Singapore in July 1990 and went
on the obtain her post-graduate qualifications in the specialty
of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Australia in September
1996, Singapore in November 1996 and London in February 1997.
She was a research
associate at the Cryobiology Research Institute at the Methodist
Hospital of Indiana, USA in 1993 and 1994 where her interest
in assisted reproduction and clinical embryology was nurtured.
She obtained a scholarship from the Singapore General Hospital
to pursue her interest in embryology and obtained her 4th
post-graduate degree, the Master in Clinical Embryology for
IVF in July 2000 from the National University of Singapore.
She is currently also a Visiting Consultant to the Centre
of Assisted Reproduction (CARE) and the Male Fertility Clinic
at the Singapore General Hospital.
Dr Abu-Wong is
an IVF clinician with accreditation from the Ministry of Health
to practice IVF. Her subspecialty interest in the management
of Subfertility for both the male and female is extensive.
She is also active in the management of female sexual dysfunction.
Her other subspecialty interest is Urogynaecology.
